VideoGeek JT and The Case of New York Comic Con

Do you know what it feels like to be crammed into a building with over 125,000 people? I sure do.

If I can describe New York Comic Con in one word, I would say “crowded”. The place was packed, and for anyone who has been to the Jacob Javits knows that’s not an easy feat. Last year it was pretty bad when getting though the showroom floor, but this year I actually had trouble just navigating the lobby. Even Artist Alley which I think was placed in an awful section in comparison to the rest of the convention was still full. I might be exaggerating here, but think it took me 15 minutes to walk through 3 isles without stopping at one table.

Also didn’t get to accomplish the video I wanted to do either. I was looking to make a cosplay music video at con to the song “Eyes for You” by The All Ways (which btw is an awesome band, check them out www.theallways.com). However the place proved too crowded to do the moves I wanted to on camera, and I’m sure cosplayers didn’t want me dragging them all over creation to find the perfect shoot location. Oh… and then there was Sailor Moon, but I’m saving that for a different post.

Still, outside the monstrous crowd, there were still alot of awesome things about New York Comic Con. There were some cool guests there. Stan Lee made his appearance and got to see him at the MTV Geek box. As a wrestling fan it was cool to see the Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly, and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine (Dolph Ziggler was there too but missed him). I also managed to get an awesome image of Deadpool and Lobo together… and for anyone wondering who Lobo is, here is something to introduce you to his awesomeness…

Unfortunately I doubt I will be returning to the convention next year as I much rather spend that weekend doing other things with a smaller group. But for those looking for deals on comics, enjoying seeing or doing cosplays, and seeing some stars, I wish you all a good time. ^_^

NYCC 2012 Video

This will probably be my last convention video, as I want to start focusing on films…

New York Comic Con

Fell a little behind with some of the posts, but wanted to let everyone know I will be at NYCC today. If you see me, feel free to say hi. ^_^

FROM THE INTERNETS… “The Anime Club”

Friend linked me to this awesome comic online. From anyone who was ever apart of an anime club, this is a good read…

FROM THE INTERNETS… “Ghostbusters Trailer Re-cut”

This was a video I first saw a year and a half ago, and just rediscovered on my Facebook page. If you have never seen it before, enjoy it’s awesomeness…

Otakon Good… Video a Bust…

So I’ll start with the bad news first…

The video was a bust! 5 hours into taping I was approached by Otakon staff and told that I was…

a.) Not allowed to tape.
b.) Not allowed to post any of the stuff I taped already online.

Normally I’d wouldn’t care and march forward (especially considering I’ve taped the con every year without issue), but I was also down there representing another organization and didn’t want to taint their relationship to the con for my personal project, so I just squashed it. 😛

Otherwise, loved Otakon… mostly on the basis that I had stuff to do this year. IDK why, but I’m not one of those people content with being an attendee at an convention. Somehow placing me to work makes me happy, and helping out the Manga Library this year really made me enjoy the con more than I have previous years, and definitely made the time go faster working with a great crew.

AnimeNEXT 2012 Promo

Okay, so I had something I was going to post…but then I totally changed my views on it and thus the whole thing became BS. However, because I really want to start posting here on a regular basis, and AnimeNEXT is just around a month away, I’m going to post the promo I made for them instead…
